Orwell's eggs.

If you've been following George Orwell's newly released-on-the-internets diary, you'll notice his obsession with how many eggs his chickens have been laying. It's hilarious! Here are his entries for the last few days (in history, of course):

11/30/1938
Two eggs.

11/29/1938
One egg.

11/28/1938
Two eggs.

11/27/1938
One egg.

11/25/1938
Two eggs.

11/24/1938
One egg. Cylinder of Butagaz gave out yesterday. That makes 5 weeks. It has supplied pretty regularly 3 gas-jets (one of them higher candle-power – I think 60 – than the others) & a fourth occasionally.
