Music, advertising, and marketing executive (and recently named NYU professor) Steve Stoute visited Howard University for a talk with African American Studies Department Chairman Dr. Greg Carr to discuss his new book, "The Tanning of America: How the Culture of Hip-Hop Rewrote the Rules of the New Economy". It's really quite interesting and insightful to watch these two engage each other. I believe a businessman like Stoute values the chance to associate with and engage a premiere scholar like Dr. Carr, who, as a master of historical context and the art of the question, proves invaluable to the people's perspective as an interviewer. And what's certainly true, being in conversation is never a bad thing.
